Happy November!

We went to Nomad today and the Urban Shaman got some new holes. Looks really good. They are a gauge 2. After a few weeks, he looks forward to getting some other nice plugs to put in.

Earring

For my birthday recently I went to Nomad and had a new earring put in. I had been thinking about this particular piece for months and had ordered it awhile ago. The new earring is on a ring and is a white moonstone.

I just love it and keep looking in the mirror to admire it.


I was with a whole bunch of family recently and nobody said anything about it. We were all raised that "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all" which is really nice, but at the same time sometimes I just want to roll my eyes at their limited and boxed-in concept of beauty.

Anyway, I love it, and am thinking about a new piercing soon...

Not Your Typical Birthday Present

We celebrated the Urban Shaman's (US) 30th birthday today by going to Nomad, the awesome piercing studio here in Portland.

US got an apadravya piercing! If you don't know what it is, google images of it, but be warned, you will see some X-rated images :)

It was an intense experience for him. He feels like he's undergone a rite of passage. Pretty fitting since I gave birth to Il Tonino, at home, just months before my 30th birthday. Initiation into the 30's!
