Belly cast

More than 4 years after my son's pregnancy, I finally painted the belly cast! I have had this design in my head since shortly after he was born, and it has stayed with me. I am so pleased with how it turned out, it is really pretty. (Definitely beautiful compared to plain, white cast plaster!) He was born at 12:30am, during the dark of the night, and a boy, so it just fits on many levels.

In a few more days, I will make a belly cast for my current pregnancy. I'm pretty excited about that, and then I can compare the two, both cast at 36 weeks of pregnancy. I am seeing oranges and yellows for the second one, so I am thinking it will be a morning birth? We shall see. It gives me no indication if this one is a boy or girl, though! I hope it doesn't take me another 4 years to paint the second one, and I am trying to figure out where to put them in my house...
